    "Reframing Challenging Behavior" Strategies to promote pro-social behavior and enhance social emotional skill-building in the early childhood setting.    

    Workshop Description: The ability of young children to manage their emotions and behaviors and to make meaningful friendships is an important prerequisite for school readiness and academic success. Socially competent children are also more academically successful. Research indicates that poor social skills are a strong predictor of academic failure. Understanding the Pyramid Model for promoting social/emotional competence will guide teachers to turn-around-thinking and identify strategies to teach important skills for positive outcomes for children.

    Workshop Description:  Children in childcare can often have differing family dynamics    (divorced, separated, parents living apart, grandparent/relative care and multiple drop   off/pick up adults…) that make communication among their adult care-givers, and between the child care and families, challenging for all parties involved, which can greatly impact the  child in common.  

    Co-Parenting is ideal when it works, but what do families do when they just can't get along?  How do you support families without getting caught in the middle, or worse, add fuel to the flames.  Join us for a discussion about the differences between co-parenting and parallel parenting; with tips and tricks for your professional toolbox so you can help families keep the children in the center of the picture.
